CSS/A / ABOUT / SINCE 2011

Serving the internet's
best work.

CSS Awards is an independent platform celebrating websites designed and built with intent. Since 2011, we have documented the teams, ideas, and technical craft moving the open web forward.

Independent since day one
WHY WE EXIST

Good work deserves more than a passing mention.

Websites are living pieces of culture. They combine design, writing, technology, strategy, and interaction, yet the people behind them can disappear as quickly as the next redesign.

We preserve that work in a searchable archive and recognise excellence at daily, monthly, and yearly levels. Every profile is designed to give useful credit and a lasting route back to the original creators.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Independent by design

A clear set of principles shapes what we recognise, how we judge, and how selected work is presented.

01

Independent

CSS Awards is built around editorial independence. Payment covers evaluation and never guarantees recognition.

02

Open to the web

We welcome work from established studios, independent makers, internal teams, and emerging practitioners worldwide.

03

Made for the work

Every selected website receives a permanent record that credits the project, its creators, and the original URL.

CHANGELOG.md

Built one year at a time

The platform continues to grow while its purpose stays simple: find exceptional work and credit it properly.

2011
